María Grazia Goya is a cinematographer born in Ecuador, based in Barcelona and working internationally.

Her debut film “From the Wild Sea” (directed by Robin Petré) premiered at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival. It was nominated for the Berlinale Documentary Award and for the Bodil Award for Best Documentary at the Danish Film Critics Association. It won the GRAND PRIX for Best Film at the Global Science Film Festival in Switzerland.

“Calls from Moscow” (directed by Luis Alejandro Yero) had its world premiere at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival. Later having its North American premiere at The Museum of Modern Art - MoMA in New York. The film was awarded as Best Feature Length Film at IBAFF (Festival Internacional de Cine de Murcia) in Spain.

Her upcoming project, currently in post-production “Only on Earth” (directed by Robin Petré) won the IEFTA Doc-in-Progress Award at Marché du Film, Festival de Cannes 2024 and Best pitch award at CPH:FORUM in Copenhaguen.

Her work includes, “Duty Free” (directed by Hilke Rönnfeldt), “Ruth” (directed by Sonia Martí Gallego), and “Vaivén” directed by (Nisha Platzer) which won the Best Film Award at Alucine 2020.

María was selected as one of the 12 emerging cinematographers at Berlinale Talents 2021.

She is an alumnus of DocNomads, the itinerant Master program in documentary. And a cinematography graduate from the highly esteemed Cuban film school EICTV.

She is an invited teacher at the DocNomads MA in Lisbon for the Cinematography workshop. And as a Cinematography mentor at the EICTV One-to-One program in Cuba.

María Grazia Goya es una directora de fotografía nacida en Ecuador, radicada en Barcelona y trabajando internacionalmente.

Su debut “From the Wild Sea” (dirigida por Robin Petré), se estrenó en el 71º Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín. Fue nominada al Premio de Documental de la Berlinale y al Premio Bodil de Mejor Documental por la Asociación Danesa de Críticos de Cine.
